Peaks Challenge isn't simply a long bike ride. It's a test of endurance, climbing ability, pacing, nutrition, fatigue management and mental resilience. It's one of the hardest challenge rides on the calendar.
Whether you're taking on Peaks for the first time, returning to improve on a previous attempt, chasing a specific time or just want to finish, your preparation needs to reflect your starting point, your lifestyle and your goal.
The preparation can't be left until the final few weeks. A structured approach gives you the time to progressively build the fitness and endurance you need, while learning how to manage the demands of the course.
The question isn't simply, "Can I ride 235 km, climb more than 4000m vertical and do it in under the time limit?"
It's: "How do I prepare to perform when the hardest part of the ride is still ahead of me?"

Taking on Peaks for the first time? I'll help you build the fitness, endurance and confidence you need to take on the challenge with a clear plan.

Done Peaks before? Come back better prepared. We'll analyse your previous experience, identify where you can improve and build your training around your next goal.

Want to improve your previous Peaks time? I'll build your training around your target, developing the endurance, climbing ability and pacing required to perform when it matters most.

Have a demanding work or family life? Your training needs to fit your life. I'll build your program around the time you actually have available, so every session has a purpose.

Are you an age group athlete adapting to the challenges of getting older? Your coaching needs to account for your experience, recovery, lifestyle and the time you have available to train.

Motivated to train, but not sure what to do each week? I'll give you a clear plan, explain the purpose behind your training, build your goals and adjust it as you progress.

As an Olympic Gold Medallist and experienced Australian cycling coach who has spent more than four decades immersed in the sport — first as an athlete and later helping develop and coach cyclists at multiple levels from beginner to International level.
My approach combines structured training, performance analysis, experience, coaching intuition and individualisation to create programs that work around the rider — their goals, lifestyle, training history and available time.
I pride myself on being able to get the best out of people. If you have big goals, I'll find a way to raise the bar. I'm a no frills coach that will tell you exactly where you are, what you're doing wrong and what you need to do.
Whether you're preparing for your first Peaks Challenge, returning to improve your previous performance or chasing a personal best, the objective is the same:
Help you arrive at the start line prepared, confident and ready to perform.
Cycle2fit coaching gives you a structured program built around your goals, your current fitness and the time you have available. Your training is monitored and adjusted as you progress, so you're not simply following a generic plan.
A structured program built around your Peaks goal, training history and available time. Your training is reviewed as you progress, with adjustments made when your fitness, workload or circumstances change.
Training is easier when you don't have to do it alone. I'll help you stay focused, accountable and motivated throughout your preparation — providing guidance when things aren't going to plan, perspective when training gets tough, and the experience to help you make better decisions along the way.
Use your training data and feedback to understand how you're responding and make smarter training decisions.
Build progressively towards the event, developing the endurance, climbing ability, pacing and resilience required to perform on the day.
You don't have to prepare for a challenge like Peaks on your own.
Let's talk about where you're at now, what you want to achieve and what your preparation needs to look like.
Your first step is a free 30-minute consultation with me to discuss your cycling background, your Peaks goal and whether personalised Cycle2fit coaching is the right fit for you.
No obligation. Just an honest conversation about your goals.
